Collar Tabs
Collar tabs (collar patches, gorget patches, Ger. Kragenspiegel), military insignia, signing rank and/or arm-of-service, often embroidered on a patch of cloth in Branch-of-Service Colour, and worn in pairs on the collar of a uniform.
Kragenspiegel (Ger., »collar mirror«), literally the space a between the Spiegellitzen b mirror lace of the Kragenpatte c collar tab. The Kragenspiegel symbolizes the laced buttonholes of the old Prussian uniform. The Waffenfarbe of the collar tab indicates which arm-of-service the soldiers belongs to.
