Russian Artillery Green
»Russian Artillery Green«, typically designated »Apple Green« in miniature painting guides, appears to have been a tinted green noticeably brighter than the dark »Russian Green« uniforms worn by the attendant gunners. For the illustration above, we matched antique samples of »Apple Green« stain paint produced by Heritage USA, using a 2:1 mixture of Plaka 47 »Dark Green« and Plaka 1 »White«, and compared it to a match of Richard Hook’s interpretation of »Russian Artillery Green« published on Plate B of Artillery Equipment of the Napoleonic Wars by Terence Wise, mixing one part PRIMAcryl 13.435 »Cobalt Blue light« and 2 parts 13.210 »Vanadium Yellow deep«.
