Carnation
Carnation (late Latin, »representation of flesh«), in painting the treatment of the colour of flesh, the representation of the naked on the human body. Outstanding masters in carnation among the classic painters are Titian and the Venetians, Correggio and Rubens. Also used synonymously with incarnate.
