Dolman

Dolman (Turkish), a short-tailed coat or shell jacket trimmed with cords and knots, originally the uniform of Hungarian hussars, is still worn by some regiments as a gift from princely colonels, trimmed with fur. It was replaced from 1849 onwards, initially in the Austro-Hungarian Army, by the more tunic-like attila; a dolman similar to the latter is worn by the French infantry.
