Evaluation
Scale model with good detail. The KV-1.A consists of 82 parts, 44 of which and the two soft plastic tank tracks are used solely for the track assemblies. The turret consists of twelve parts, and the hull of six large and 18 small parts.
From the beginning, Fujimi was exemplary in including a commander with every tank model, although the figure doesn‘t always fit into the open hatch. Usually, the figure‘s hips and waist have to be filed or carved until the soldier fits inside his tank.
The soft plastic tank tracks can be difficult to assemble, because the required fusion welding of the two connecting links often fails. Either the connection is not strong enough and tears apart again when the track is fitted, or the track is irreparably damaged by excessive heat. As a last resort, sewing or stapling the connecting links is the only option.
