6-inch Howitzer Gribeauval
Introduced in 1776, the 6-inch howitzer, named obusier de 6 pouces Gribeauval in French service, replaced the earlier 8-inch howitzer M1743/48 of the field artillery until it was superseded by the 24-pound (5.72-inch) howitzer system An XI in 1805.
