Modellbau Süd, Stuttgart 1999
The annual Modellbau Süd modelling show in Stuttgart, Germany covers all aspects of the modelling hobby, including radio control and railway model exhibits. Our favourite 1:72 scale was only one small element of the entire event, but there were several trade stands selling aircraft, vehicles, and – rarely – figures in this scale.
Stuttgarter Interessengemeinschaft Modellbau (S.I.M.) had their regular booth at Modellbau Süd, and they showed several vehicle and aircraft dioramas in 1:72 to 1:35 scale. S.I.M. has approximately 60 members in the Stuttgart area who are interested in automobile, military, science fiction, and aircraft modelling. S.I.M. meets every second Saturday of the month at 12.00 pm at "Neues Schützenhaus", Kühornweg 10, Stuttgart-Heslach. Take the Stadtbahnlinie 14 to "Südheimer Platz". Call Peter-Paul Veg at (0711) 281403 or Johannes Mulke at (07161) 98283 for more information about the S.I.M.
