Platoon

Platoon, a subdivision of a military unit (such as a company, comprising three platoons in the German Army, a squadron, or a battery) commanded by a platoon commander (an officer or an acting officer). In the French Army, this unit is known as a section (for infantry and engineers) or a peloton. See also: Deployment, Jäger etc.
The infantry platoon above consists of the platoon commander (a lieutenant), a sergeant, the platoon headquarters section, and three sections, each led by a corporal. The Matchbox 1:76 scale British Infantry figures were painted with artists‘ acrylics and they are individually mounted for various World War II simulation games.
