ROCO 1:87 Scale Vehicle Review
This vintage ROCO 1:87 scale Flakpanzer IV “Whirlwind” features a noticeably small turret, offering little space for its crew. The 2 cm Flak-Vierling 38, with a barrel circumference of approximately 104 mm, is nearly as robust as the 3.7 cm Flak 43 from the same manufacturer, and the Pz.Kpfw. IV chassis is practically void of equipment. Spare track links, spare road wheels, rack jack, Notek Kfz-Nachtmarschgerät, and many other details are missing; this Flakpanzer IV “Whirlwind” cannot compete with its more recent reissue (ROCO 762). However, those who enjoy model building and need a cheap anti-aircraft vehicle for simulation games should be able to transform this dated ROCO Flakpanzer IV “Whirlwind” into an attractive model.
