Truck, Cargo, 1¼-ton, 4×4, Dodge M880 CUCV with S-250 Shelter
This ROCO 1:87 scale 1¼-ton, 4×4 communications truck is actually just a truck, cargo, 1¼-ton, 4×4, Dodge M880 CUCV with an S-250 shelter placed in the rear. Since this is a used vehicle, we cannot be sure if the previous owner simply forgot to fit the communications equipment and convert his M880 to a proper M882 communications truck, or if the vehicle was sold without antenna mounts, tie-downs, and other relevant parts.
Unlike the M561 “Gama Goat”, the M880 series of commercial utility cargo vehicles (CUCV) was found not to be suitable for forward area deployment. Commercially available vehicles, like the Dodge M880, are much cheaper than comparable military designs, of course, but they are only meant for rear area duty, even in Wargames.
