Carriage, Self-Propelled, Anti-Aircraft, twin 40 mm, 25-ton, M42 “Duster”
1:100 Roskopf Vehicle Review

The Roskopf 1:100 scale M42 “Duster” is a twin 40 mm self-propelled anti-aircraft gun on the chassis of the M41 “Walker Bulldog” light tank, which entered service in 1953 and was phased out of the US Army in 1963, when it was replaced by the HAWK surface-to-air missile system.

Evaluation
The twin 40 mm gun barrels protrude too far beyond the front glacis of the tank. Either the barrels are too long, the tank too short, or the turret was mounted too far forward. The caliber length of the 40 mm L60 Bofors is 2400 mm, the equivalent of 24 mm at 1:100 scale. Roskopf seems to have fallen for the idea that “bigger is better”, and they have given their M42 “Duster” a whopping 32.8 mm caliber length.
