Evaluation
Excellent choice of subject, the Roskopf Centurion Mk 5/2 main battle tank is unique in this scale.
Roskopf sold the Centurion Mk 5/2 fully assembled. The model is largely free of mould lines and ingates.
Good value for money, antique Roskopf Centurion Mk 5/2 tanks can be found cheaply on the internet and at flea markets.
The length and width of the model are correct; however, at only 2.60 m height, the silhouette of this tank is about half a meter lower than the original.
The unusually smooth surfaces on the turret, hull, track guards, and side skirts hardly invite the eye to linger. Countless handles, hinges, latches, periscopes, fan covers, panel lines, rivets, and screws that truly make a model interesting are sadly missing here. The coaxial machine gun, anti-aircraft machine gun, and smoke grenade dischargers are also absent, as is the stowage bin at the rear of the turret, the trailer coupling, and the armoured telephone box at the rear of the hull. Experienced modelers will recreate some of these details using polystyrene sheet and rod, or simply paint them on.
