PT-76B Amphibious Light Tank
Roskopf 1:100 Scale Vehicle Review

The Roskopf 1:100 scale PT-76B amphibious light tank represents the 1957 upgrade with 76 mm D-56TM tank gun with fume extractor and double-baffle muzzle brake. Our review vehicle appears to be armed with two coaxial machine guns, one on either side of the tank gun. While these very delicate plastic parts rarely survive when a vintage Roskopf PT-76B light tanks is played with, we will actually have to remove one from this well-preserved specimen.

Evaluation
Good choice of subject, the PT-76B amphibious light tank is unique in this scale.
The Roskopf PT-76B was sold fully assembled, ready to play. Mould lines and sprue need to be removed prior to painting.
Roskopf fitted their PT-76B with two coaxial machine guns, one on either side of the main gun, which are typically long gone when a vintage Roskopf light tank is received in the mail. In the rare event that both coaxial machine guns are still there, the one on the left, port side, of the 76 mm gun needs to be cut off, but leaving the semi-circular housing in place to act as the armoured cover of the gun sight; s. our tutorial “PT-76B Amphibious Light Tank”.
The model can be visually upgraded by adding grab rails to the turret and hull, and placing up to 20 tankodesantniki tank riders on the deck behind the turret.
The dark olive green plastic of the Roskopf model is a good match for Humbrol 114 »Russian Green«. The model may be used unpainted, but it does look much better with a two or three colour camouflage pattern and a little weathering.

The Roskopf 1:100 scale PT-76B light amphibious tank is a good model for wargamers who want to field an amphibious tank company. While the Roskopf model is no longer in production, it can be found cheaply at flea markets, model railway shows, and auctions.
