Churchill IV (75)
A.22 Infantry Tank Mark IV

World Tanks Depot 1:87 Scale Vehicle Review

Churchill IV (75), 1:87 World Tanks Depot 10.

The 1-87 World Tanks Depot model of the A.22 Infantry Tank Mark IV is an up-gunned Churchill IV (75) with the British Ordnance QF 75 mm gun, but without applique armour. The vehicle is sold fully assembled and painted, ready to play. Cast in white metal, this Churchill IV (75) weighs 147 g. Not a problem, if one or two models are to be used in a skirmish wargame, but the weight quickly adds up if an entire squadron of Churchill infantry tanks were to be deployed.

The Churchill IV (75) sports no divisional markings, but the tactical marking of a white “6” within a yellow square indicates that it is the troop commander‘s vehicle of 6 Troop, B Squadron of the second most senior regiment in its brigade. Based on this information, we may be looking at a Churchill of 107th RAC of 34th Armoured Brigade, or 9th RTR of 31st Tank Brigade, or 4th Tank Battalion Coldstream Guards of 6th Guards Tank Brigade.

The vehicle still needs to be weathered, and it should be protected with a layer of clear varnish to reduce the risk of the enamel paint chipping off. As can be seen in the photo, paint has already chipped off the exposed edges of the right rear stowage bin.
