The 1-87 World Tanks Depot Stridsvagn 103 main battle tank is sold fully assembled and painted, ready to play. Cast in white metal, this STRV 103 weighs 149 g. Not a problem, if one or two models are to be used in a modern skirmish game, but the weight quickly adds up if an entire company of Stridsvagn 103 were to be deployed.
The metal is relatively soft, suggestive of a high lead content. The machine gun on the hull is easily bent. The S-Tank still needs to be weathered, and it should be protected with a layer of clear varnish to reduce the risk of the enamel paint chipping off.
Compatible with HO scale model railway equipment and miniatures by Faller, Märklin, Noch, Pola, Preiser, ROCO, and Wespe Models.
The Stridsvagn 103 main battle tank never saw combat; however, in a wargame in the late 1990s, seven Stridsvagn 103s successfully defended against seven attacking Leopard 2 main battle tanks. All seven Leopard 2s were destroyed, with only one Stridsvagn 103 being lost.
