Ansaldo M13/40 Tank

Ansaldo M13/40 Tank.

The Ansaldo M13/40 was a medium tank with a total weight of 13.8 tons, which was delivered to the Italian army from 1940 onwards. Despite being weakly armoured, underpowered, and therefore already obsolete upon its introduction, the Carro Armato M13/40 and its upgrade, the Carro Armato M14/41, formed the backbone of the Italian armoured divisions “Ariete” and “Littorio” in the battles of El Alamein, and of the armored division “Centauro” as late as 1942 and 1943 in Tunisia.
