Austrian Dragoon Regiment Savoy of the Seven Years’ War, 1756–1763
By decree dated 7 February 1682 Oberst Graf Kueffstein raised a dragoon regiment in Silesia. In 1683, Eugen Franz Prinz von Savoyen became the new Inhaber, and the regiment continued to be known as Dragoner-Regiment Savoyen even after it was given to General- Feldwachtmeister Ferdinand Carl Graf Aspremont-Linden in 1737. During the Seven Years’ War the regiment fought at the Battles of Kolin and Torgau.

Light straw-coloured leather breeches were worn on campaign. Dragoner-Regiment Savoyen was distinguished from Dragoner-Regiment Württemberg by its red vest.
