Bandolier, Leather (.303-inch), Ammunition
LoC № 5873 – Bandolier, Leather (.303-inch), Ammunition, 6 Jun 1889
Mounted Infantry, 50 rounds, with steadying strap
It is similar to that described in LoC 4401, but the tubes are smaller and only two-thirds in length. This shortening of the tube admits the cartridge being more readily extracted.
The bandolier is also 5 inches shorter than the previous pattern, and is therefore more suitable for small men, while it can be let out for large men.
A pattern of the above-mentioned bandolier has been sealed to govern manufacture, and the alteration of bandoliers, Mounted Infantry, Mark I, when specially ordered.
