Blackout marker lights, the camouflaged side marker lights on vehicles of the US Armed Forces, designed to make the vehicle dimensions recognizable to oncoming and following vehicles when driving under blackout lighting conditions. The front marker lights are usually mounted below or beside the headlights. The rear marker lights, or blackout taillights, are typically integrated into the same housing as the blackout stop lights, and serve the same purpose as the Abstandsrücklicht used by the Wehrmacht or the rear convoy guidance cross on NATO vehicles.
