Blackout Stop Lights
Blackout stop lights (Ger. Tarnbremsleuchten), the camouflaged brake lights on vehicles of the US Armed Forces. They are typically mounted in one housing with the rear marker lights, which also include a “cat eyes” convoy guidance system (Ger. Abstandsrücklicht) which allows drivers to maintain the proper vehicle following distance under blackout driving conditions.
