ESCI 1:72 Scale Vehicle Review
This le. Schützenpanzerwagen, Sonderkraftfahrzeug 250/1, is an armoured personnel carrier conversion of the 1:72 scale ESCI light Armoured Radio Vehicle, Sd.Kfz. 250/3. The previous owner of this used model simply omitted the frame antenna of the radio vehicle, but without also adapting the rear fighting compartment to the armoured personnel carrier configuration. In fact, the radios (No. 53 and 54) need to be left off, and the single seat (No. 11) moved further to the rear, with its back against the large stowage bin in the right rear of the fighting compartment, which needs to be scratchbuilt from polystyrene sheet.
The conversion makes sense because the ESCI light armoured radio vehicle, Sd.Kfz. 250/3, is widespread and can be procured online or at flea markets for little money.
