106 mm Recoilless Rifle M40 on Willys MD

ROCO 1:87 Scale Vehicle Review

106 mm Recoilless Rifle M40 on Willys MD, 1:87 H0 ROCO 145.

The ROCO 1:87 scale M40 106 mm recoilless rifle mounted on an M38A1 Truck, Utility, ¼ ton, 4x4, Willys MD is very well suited for simulations of the area defense doctrine proposed by Emil Spannocchi and Guy Brossolet, in which light infantry platoons with MILAN anti-tank guided missiles, 106 mm recoilless rifles, mortars, and mines are intended to engage the armoured spearheads of a numerically superior attacker in a defense in depth.

Das Model is sold fully assembled, ready to play. Mould lines and sprue need to be removed prior to painting.

The recoilless rifle can be dismounted from the vehicle if the Jeep is to be used for other purposes. The recoilless rifle can be easily mounted on an M113, Ford M151 MUTT, Land Rover, Munga, HS 30, Nissan Patrol, Jonga and many other vehicles.

The missing windshields on this vintage model can be scratchbuilt from clear polystyrene. The best way to do this is to replace the entire windshield frame and then paint the frame onto the clear plastic part. This can be achieved by masking the windshield with masking tape before painting.

Compatible with HO scale model railway equipment and miniatures by ESPEWE, Faller, Märklin, Noch, Pola, Preiser, and Wespe Models.

The ROCO Willys MD with 106 mm recoilless rifle must have been produced in large numbers, as it can be found cheaply online or at flea markets.
