This Roskopf 1:100 scale T-10M heavy tank has received a new 0.5 mm Ø piano wire barrel and 1 mm Ø polystyrene tube M.1946 muzzle break for its damaged “Dashka” machine gun.

Evaluation
Sold fully assembled, ready to play. The model comes with toy-like carpet rollers which need to be removed to make the T-10 heavy tank sit on its tracks convincingly. Cover the resulting holes in the underside with free 0.25 mm polystyrene sheet taken from a yoghurt cup.
The upgraded T-10M differs from its predecessors by its longer 122 mm M-62-T2 gun with muzzle brake and fume extractor, which is accurately represented in the model. Unfortunately, the IR searchlight typical of the T-10M is missing from the right side of the gun mantlet.
The Dushka machine gun is a relatively robust, simplified and oversized rendition of the real thing. Many antique Roskopf models are auctioned with bent or broken machine gun barrels which may be repaired using 0.5 mm piano wire and 1 mm PS tubing. Scratch-building the DShK machine gun is an option even in this small scale.
The dark olive green plastic of the Roskopf model is a good match for Humbrol 114 »Russian Green«. The model may be used unpainted, but it does look much better with a two or three colour camouflage pattern and a little weathering.

The Roskopf T-10M is best suited for wargamers who want to combine the heavy tank with 15/18 mm figures and other 1:100 scale vehicles. Roskopf models are no longer in production, but they regularly appear at auctions. Vintage Roskopf T-10M heavy tanks fetch widely varying prices in online auctions, ranging from € 2 to € 8 per vehicle. Super-detailed and accurately painted models can easily cost € 50.
