120 mm Self-Propelled Mortar HS 30 Type 52-3

Roskopf 1:100 Scale Vehicle Review

120 mm Self-Propelled Mortar HS 30 Type 52-3, 1:100 Roskopf 134.

The Roskopf 1:100 scale 120 mm Panzermörser HS 30 Typ 52-3 is the 120 mm self-propelled mortar variant of the German HS 30 infantry fighting vehicle, introduced in 1966. This used model is missing the 120 mm mortar, which is normally clearly visible protruding from the open fighting compartment.

The heavy self-propelled mortar platoon of the 5th (heavy) company of a Panzergrenadierbataillon (SPz) consisted of the platoon leader vehicle HS 30 type 12-3 or type 21-3, a fire control vehicle HS 30 type 81-3, and six 120 mm self-propelled mortars.

The 120 mm self-propelled mortar HS 30 Type 52-3 is detailed enough, but the open fighting compartment does need a mortar crew and a minimum of interior detailing.

Measuring 54 × 25 × 19 mm, the model conforms to 1:100 scale very well.

Compatible mit ArmiesArmy, Battlefront Miniatures (Flames of War, Team Yankee), Eureka Miniatures, Flashpoint Miniatures, Forged in Battle, Irregular Miniatures, Khurasan Miniatures, MJ Figures, Old Glory, Peter Pig, Plastic Soldier Company, Pico Armor, Skytrex (Command Decision), Quality Castings, Quick Reaction Force (QRF), Rebel Minis, Zvezda, and similar 15/18 mm figures in 1:100 scale.

The Roskopf 120 mm self-propelled mortar HS 30 Type 52-3 is unique in this scale; it is very well suited for Cold War simulation games and dioramas.
