Tarnlichtanlage (Tarnkreis, Engl. blackout lights), part of the vehicle lighting system of wheeled and tracked vehicles of the German Armed Forces, consisting of Tarnscheinwerfer blackout driving lights, Tarnschlussleuchten blackout taillights, Tarnbremsleuchten blackout stop lights, Leitkreuz rear convoy guidance cross, and Abdeckklappen für Kontrollanzeigen covers for controls in the driver‘s cab.
The purpose of the Tarnlichtanlage is to equip motor vehicles traveling individually and in convoys with lighting that makes observation on the ground or from the air impossible.
