Tamiya Color Acrylic Paints

Tamiya Color Acrylic Paints are available in 23 ml or 10 ml glass jars. The sturdy plastic screw caps have a durable plastic seal inside, which does not appear to be completely gas-tight. Stored upright on their screw caps, the paints last longer; however, there is a risk that liquid acrylic medium will seep into the thread of the lid and solidify there. In this case, the jars may be opened with tongue-and-groove pliers. To ensure a better seal, it is well advised to wipe spilled paint off the rim of glass jar with a damp cloth before closing the jar again. Over time, the pigments tend to settle at the bottom of the jar and thicken. Before painting or spraying, the paints need to be stirred thoroughly and, if necessary, thinned with a little Tamiya X-20A Acrylic Thinner. Empty jars, cleaned with Orange Solvent or Sterillium hand disinfectant, are ideal for storing homemade mixtures, or for decanting Revell Aqua Color acrylic paints.

The packaging does not provide any information about the pigments contained in the respective colour, whether it is a single pigment colour or a mixed pigment colour. Without this information, it is difficult to predict how a colour will interact when mixed with or glazed over another colour.
